Join baritone and UC Boulder professor, Andrew Garland as he takes you through a two week intensive on the works of Steven Mark Kohn. Critics have called Kohn’s music “the most beautifully rendered selections of traditional American folk songs ever heard on stage.” Study the music of this living composer with one of his favorite collaborators, get interactive feedback on your performance and meet the composer and Prof. Garland in a livestream on the tonebase voice platform.
You can study and sing any Steven Mark Kohn Folk Song except “Ten Thousand Miles Away.” Each participant should choose just one. Every day’s materials and activities apply to any song. Recommended pieces are as follows:
