Sight Reading Jump Start is a two-week intensive program led by Heidi Vass, designed to help singers and musicians confidently begin their journey into sight reading. Using tonebase resources—such as Dr. Joel Clift’s comprehensive course—and rooted in the movable-do solfège system and Kodály principles, this program delivers daily video tutorials and hands-on exercises that build essential skills step by step. Participants learn to internalize rhythm, recognize pitch patterns, sing with solfège, and develop a strong sense of musical pulse. From mastering step-wise motion and arpeggios to applying skills in real repertoire, each day reinforces a practical, repeatable approach to sight reading. With interactive assignments, warm-ups, and opportunities to record and share progress, learners leave the course with a solid foundation and a personalized toolkit for continued growth.
