🎶 Join the 3-Week 24 Italian Songs & Arias Challenge!

This September, we’re diving into some of the most beloved repertoire in vocal history — the 24 Italian Songs and Arias.

Starting September 8, singers from around the world will join forces in small study groups for a 3-week Challenge. When you sign up, you’ll be randomly assigned one of these iconic pieces. You might be paired with an “old friend” you’ve sung before… or discover something entirely new. Either way, it’s going to be a month of learning, sharing, and musical breakthroughs!

✨ What’s Included

  • Guided weekly prompts: IPA, translation, stress patterns, context, and dramatic readings.

  • Study groups: Collaborate, share reflections, and support each other’s growth.

  • Guest coach: Derrick Goff will drop into the forum to check on your progress and will join us for a livestream Q&A on September 24 at 11am PT.

  • Showcase & Celebration: On October 1, we’ll gather for a livestream showcase of performances and highlights.

🏆 The Bravi Tutti Competition
Each group will bring their best effort as part of a friendly cohort competition. At the October 1 livestream, one team will earn the coveted title of tonebase Voice “Bravi tutti” Champions — but you’ll have to tune in live to see who takes the crown!

How to Join

  1. Sign up by September 7.

  2. On September 8, get matched with your group and your assigned song.

  3. Begin your 3-week journey through one of the most enduring vocal collections ever published!

This sounds a little daunting! But fun, too. I'll double check with my vocal teacher before signing up. Thanks for all these wonderful opportunities, Heidi!

Ok, I've signed up. My vocal teacher thought it a good idea, though a short time-frame. We tend to work pretty slowly through rep. Looking forward to the challenge!

oh I hope I didn't come across a certain way.  I just have never told a teacher I'm using this..   I'm kind of afraid to.  One of my friends who was a student as well was learning a more advanced aria with her and isn't in lessons anymore. I kind of feel like she isn't suggesting the aria to me  or anything ? But I think it's good for someone to ask their own teacher..... I just feel shy doing it and afraid she might not believe in me like i thought..I'm sorry. I think I was comversating

not at all! Teacher-singer relationships can be tricky. But in all honesty, these pieces are very much the starting point for most singers getting into classical voice. We are not tackling Verdi or even Mozart, so there should be little concern for you jumping into repertoire that is too challenging :)

I'm not a great singer, but the journey sounds intriguing! I'll take a shot at it.

You will love diving into these pieces. There's a reason they are the most popular in the rep!

Yes! My favourite singing language too, much more than my mother tongue Mandarin Chinese.

I have a feeling that A LOT of people feel that way about singing in Italian. There's a reason it's the first language we train classical singers in ;)
